Contessa Hajinikitas has a Bachelor of Town Planning, graduating in 1992 from the University of New South Wales with an undergraduate thesis titled “Dual Mode Travel: Combining Bicycles with Public Transport.” For the past 17 years Contessa has been specialising in bicycle and pedestrian planning, mobility plans, community consultation and facility design and implementation. Contessa has taught in Italy and completed projects locally and in Italy and Norway. Her work has been published in Australia and in Italy, Spain, Norway, Scotland and the Netherlands. More recently, Contessa has become involved in streetscape master planning and holds the Roads and Traffic Authority of NSW licence to undertake the course titled “Designing for Bicycle Riders and Pedestrians”.
